I walked into my first class this morning to see a talk being advertised that supposes that rape is not a problem in the United States, that women will know a rapist when we see one, that rape isn’t a problem on college campuses.
I wanted to cry. Instead I wrote down that Take Back The Night was scheduled for the same night.
And then I erased the details about the talk.
Accidentally of course. I was just so nauseous and had to take notes during class and was about to cry that I couldn’t concentrate and after all, it was distracting me.

Yeah, I’m finally opening them up! I recently got away from a preeeetty negative situation, moved across the country, and am now in sore need of income while I job hunt in my new city! And so, here we are!
A few notes:
- All prices listed above are ‘suggestive’ of what a piece might cost. The final, actual price of a piece will be determined by private negotiations between us. Obviously, there are plenty of factors that might determine the price — such as complexity of design, size, number of subjects, etc — so I want to make sure we work out what’s best for each piece together. :) Negotiations are not frowned upon!

NAME: Nailla Robinson
APPEARANCE: Nailla stands about 40 inches tall and weighs around 35 pounds. She has a medium skin tone, brown eyes and black curly hair.
CIRCUMSTANCES: A woman entered the school and told school officials her name was “Tiffany,” and that she needed to take her daughter to breakfast. The woman then allegedly signed Nailla out of the office and took her away at approximately 8:50 AM on January 14, 2013. The woman was dressed in a traditional Muslim over-garment and Niqab. She has her face covered and only her eyes showing. She’s wearing gloves. She’s wearing all black. She has something white on her arm and she has a long black umbrella. The surveillance camera shows them walking through the hallway to get to the door. The next camera picks up and she’s putting her umbrella up.

Okay, so here’s the thing: For those of you who either a) don’t follow my blog, or b) follow my blog and have never read anything I have ever posted, you may not know that I am in a long-distance relationship with the most lovely girl in the world. Now, those of you who are familiar with long-distance relationships know that visits are few and far between. Meaghan and I, in the year that we have now been dating, have seen each other in person about four times. Visits to see each other are so infrequent because they are so expensive, what with plane tickets being so preposterously priced.
Now, I am in a bit of a bind, because I was going to go see her for Katsucon in February. However, time and money constraints are preventing this from happening, so we don’t really know if we’ll get to see each other again in the next eight months (which, trust me, is a heart-breakingly long time to wait to see your significant other). I have a lot of other personal expenditures to worry about, so I need to find another way to fund plane tickets to go visit her some time in March or April. This is why I am going out of my comfort zone and opening up

I’m new to this scene, so bear with me. All of the art is traditional (the pictures above are photos of my sketchbook, but any orders will be scanned in). Pricing is as follows:

I will also be collaborating with the lovely Miss Meaghan and taking advantage of her coloring abilities. If you would like your drawing digitally colored, you can pay an additional $5. If you’d like a smaller piece of art, five dollars will also buy you a random pencil doodle of your choice. Pencil doodles will be done on un-lined paper, but will be in a style much like this:
… and if you want something a little less detailed for a little less money, I’ll do a simple, clean sketch for just $2. Something like this, that I can do in between big pieces:

I can also do writing commissions! You want fanfic? I can do that. You want a short horror story? I can do that too. Romance? Got it. Sex? Heck, I can try. I will write 3 to 5 pages of whatever you want for a mere five dollars. It’s that simple. You give me five dollars, I write four pages of you having sex with a McDonald’s hamburger.

On Oct. 1, a viewer identified as Emmitt Vascocu wrote, “the black lady that does the news is a very nice lady.the only thing is she needs to wear a wig or grow some more hair. im not sure if she is a cancer patient. but still its not something myself that i think looks good on tv. what about letting someone a male have waist long hair do the news.what about that (cq).”
Lee replied the same day, “Hello Emmitt–I am the ‘black lady’ to which you are referring. I’m sorry you don’t like my ethnic hair. And no I don’t have cancer. I’m a non-smoking, 5’3, 121 lbs, 25 mile a week running, 37.5 year old woman, and I’m in perfectly healthy physical condition.
“I am very proud of my African-American ancestry which includes my hair. For your edification: traditionally our hair doesn’t grow downward. It grows upward. Many Black women use strong straightening agents in order to achieve a more European grade of hair and that is their choice. However in my case I don’t find it necessary. I’m very proud of who I am and the standard of beauty I display. Women come in all shapes, sizes, nationalities, and levels of beauty. Showing little girls that being comfortable in the skin and HAIR God gave me is my contribution to society. Little girls (and boys for that matter) need to see that what you look like isn’t a reason to not achieve their goals.
