My doctor recently changed my medications and I can’t afford the copay. I have a donation button on my tumblr, even a dollar helps.
I don’t know where else to go so I’m going to first apologize for taking up your dash with this post
I’m a transgender girl that unfortunately lives in the wrong place. The close-minded south to be exact. I have to sneak out of the house just to dress the way I want because my parents would kick me out if they found out, just to be ridiculed and harassed by people around me.
I also can’t afford hrt and the long drive just to get it (there is literally nowhere around here to get it)
This is going to cost me astronomical amounts of money that I don’t have.
I can’t wait any longer. I’ve felt uncomfortable in my own body for far too long and I can’t take it anymore.
Sooo what can you do?
I have a donation button on my blog and I’m willing to do anything. promos, play games with you on xbox live/steam, perform skype puppet shows, send you cute cards in the mail, and anything you can think of.
If you can’t donate then please reblog this. <3
I want you to meet Dennis. He’s a huge lover of comics, (as you can tell from his awesome PJs!) And I recently found his story through Facebook.
He’s a 55 year old man, and he has a mental and physical disability, with terminal cancer. The doctors say he has about 6 months to live, so his close friends really want to make Christmas special for him this year, and the idea is to send him a Christmas card, with a picture of a superhero character that you cosplay, signed as that character.
If you want to contribute to this, or ask any questions related to this, then you can contact James Fipps on Facebook.
Now I don’t know these people, but I really wish I did. They seem to be wonderful people, and Dennis is such a strong person, I hope he has the best Christmas of his life this year!
Thank you for reading this, please do try and share this with all the Marvel & DC friends you have. Have a Super Christmas guys!
'the idea is to send him a Christmas card, with a picture of a superhero character that you cosplay, signed as that character'
That is amazing. I’m no cosplayer, but I know a bunch of you are! Dress up in your best for an awesome cause. *_*
I don’t have any comic-related cosplays at the mo, but I want to signal boost the frick frack out of this
If you cosplay a super hero you might want to contribute to this!
As you may have heard on the news, the Philippines was hit by a massive typhoon over the last two days. Manila, the capital, was largely spared— but Central VIsayas, a group of islands right at the storm’s path, was not. There are still no telecommunications options with some of the provinces and cities, such as Guiuan, Samar and Tacloban, Leyte. Looting has begun as people are desperate for food, water, and medicine. The death toll is at 1,200 initial estimate by the Philippine Red Cross, but is expected to go up in the coming days.
If you can give anything, please give some to the following organizations as we really need help:
Philippine Red Cross — via PayPal and UShare, currently on the ground for relief efforts and have been very good in the past couple of storms.
Global Giving - Web based, credit and debit cards accepted.
Ayala Foundation (Laging Handa) - for overseas donors
Caritas Philippines - Catholic Relief Services
UNICEF Philippines - Accepting online cash donations
British Red Cross - for residents of the UK
PH Residents: Please donate food, medicine, and water to the DSWD. Volunteers are needed to help repackage relief goods for delivery, so please check your local DSWD unit or University for relief drives that you could participate in. Ateneo de Manila University and the De La Salle University will be holding relief drives and are always open for donations, so please give in-kind donations and take some time to help out!
Some pictures of the devastation from BBC can be found here.

To give an overview about how bad it is: the gale speeds hit 230mph and wind speed at where the eyewall had sustained winds of 96mph before signal was lost at the station. To put that into perspective, the Concord take-off speed was 250mph.
We have some personal reports that entire villages in Antique province were flattened, and Tacloban airport is now just the runway. This wasn’t a rain-heavy storm and it moved at an incredible speed, so flashfloods and landslides weren’t so much the problem, but the winds were just terrifying and have caused so much damage to infrastructure and lives that we now have thousands upon thousands of displaced people who have no homes to return to.
Please spread and add-on any information you may have!! I will be updating this post with new information when possible.
PH residents: PAG-ASA is monitoring a new low-pressure area off Mindanao. It is likely to dissipate, but PAG-ASA is still watching closely.
Stay safe, everyone.
Update: AIR21 will be holding a relief drive until November 17. They will accept dried/canned food, blankets and clothes, and medicines. They will not be accepting monetary donations.
Update: Manuel Quezon III has a great page detailing all nationwide relief efforts. Please check it out.

- SMART Telecomms has a satellite link up to Tacloban and network restoration is in progress. It’s been going around that communications are horrible around Central Visayas because only 3% of all the cell towers survived.
- PHILIPPINE LA SALLIANS! There is a One La Salle Relief Drive on-going for Typhoon Yolanda Victims, Monetary and in-kind donations are welcome.
- PHILIPPINE ATENEANS: An Atenean call for donations has been released. Monetary and in-kind donations are welcome.
- PHILIPPINES: Cibo’s Margarita Fores is doing a relief drive starting November 18 onwards. Needed: rice, sardines or tuna in cans or tetra packs, corned beef or any meat in cans or tetra packs, 3-in-one coffee sachets, and instant noodles. Cash donations welcome. I can personally vouch for her as I know her and have seen her at work in relief drives for previous typhoons.
GMA-7 has some news and notes from survivors in Tacloban. Those looking for news on family in the area, please check.
A list of survivors as compiled by Leyte 1st District Representative Ferdinand Martin Romualdez can be found here.
Transmission line updates:
Masbate, Northern Samar, Samar, and Leyte: partially restored
Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Iloilo (except Carles, Ajuy, Barotac Viejo, Concepcion, Batad, San Dionisio, San Rafael, and Balasan): restored.
Eastern Samar, most of Leyte: No Communication.
Communications with Tacloban island being restored via Globe and Smart telecomm lines.
Bantayan Island, Cebu is completely isolated.
Capiz and Eastern Samar are badly damaged and have not received relief goods. Hospitals in Tacloban are running on over-capacity and looting has started. In Tacloban, only helicopters are permitted to land as the airport is gone.
Rundown on Rappler can be found here.
There are reports from Reuters that the death toll can go up to 10,000 (as reported by HuffPo). We are praying it does not.
Just got word that OCCUPY WALL STREET will be coordinating a relief drive ala Occupy Sandy Hook for victims of Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda. From a long-time Occupy Wall Street supporter, thank you so much, OWS. The coordination page can be found here.
Updated with missing persons search options via SMS. Please see above.

Please, please, please donate what you can. Any little bit will go a long way for my countrymen. Thank you for your kindness and your time.
UPDATE: PHILIPPINES HAS BEEN DECLARED AS IN A STATE OF NATIONAL CALAMITY.
Some areas of downtown Tacloban now have some telecommunications up. Philippine Airlines is now accepting cargo and freight delivery for emergency response and relief goods.
Capiz, Coron, and Eastern Samar are still isolated. Please keep signal boosting this!
As some of you may know, I am currently homeless. Last night and tonight I have stayed with other family members who were able to arrange for me, my son, and my dog to stay with them. Unfortunately, the kindnesses all stop tomorrow night. We will not have a floor to sleep on.
You all know that I do not ask for help lightly. It is something that I loathe doing because I feel like I do not deserve it. My emotions have been all over the place the last few days so I figure I needed to reach out and do something that could help me and my son.
I do not know any other tumblr-ites who live in Utah, but if you do, please boost this and maybe I will be able to find a floor again. Even boosting this would help immensely. What would really help me out is financial help. I have spoken to a few places as far as hiring me as a part time (so that I can continue to go to school) and also give me a roof over my head. What worries me about this is that I need to come up with first months rent, deposit and in some cases, last months rent on top of that which is looking to be about $1500 USD. Even if I got a job tomorrow, It would take at least 2 weeks to get some sort of money and even longer to save up enough to cover everything while covering expenses such as groceries and fuel.
I am sorry guys. I really did not want it to come to this but if you could please help us out I would be incredibly grateful. All my love to you.
If you do want to donate, my paypal email is email@example.com.
Hey guys Chelsy is one of my dearest friends and this situation is utterly bullshit. She and her son deserve so much better than this- if you can lend a hand at all by chipping in that’d be so appreciated, and if anyone is in Utah/knows people in Utah who’d be able to help, please let us know.
And at the very least, please signal boost.
there’s been an overwhelmingly positive reaction to this suggestion, so here it is: the trans stuff swap. the basic premise is that lots of us, all around the world, have old clothes, bras, binders, prosthetics, etc that we don’t need anymore which could be extremely helpful to other trans folks in need. the goal of the trans stuff swap is to hook people up with these resources in their area.
trans stuff swap aims to coordinate giveaways and trades without funds or goods actually passing through me (better known as the moderator of lookatthisfuckingcisgender). how it works is simple enough: send transswap - NOT lookatthisfuckingcisgender - a message with contact info; whether you’re looking to donate, swap, or receive stuff; what you’re looking to donate, swap or receive; and whether or not you can pay for shipping/how much you can pay for shipping. you’ll then be popped on a list and matched up with the next person who fits the bill, and i’ll put you in touch.
monetary donations are also great! however, i would really prefer to avoid as much money-handling as possible on my part; what this means is that if you’d like to make a monetary contribution, what will happen is that i’ll hook you up directly with someone who needs help paying for shipping.
another way to help out is to let me know if you’re willing to purchase new bra inserts/prosthetics/larger binders/what have you. if so, great! that stuff is often very hard to find used. once again, i’ll put you on a list, and hook you up with the next person who fits the bill.
since this is a trial run, i’m currently aiming to test it out for, say, a month or so? at which point i’ll see how things are going and if it’s worth continuing, if there are changes to be made, etc. following this blog would be extremely helpful, because i will probably post calls occasionally for in-demand items and/or updates about the swap and what’s available.
if you’re interested, there’s a short application form and faq under the cut. reminder once again to PLEASE submit anything swap-related to transswap and not lookatthisfuckingcisgender, or else there’s a good chance i’ll miss your message. thanks!
Hi! Sorry to be a bother again. I hate bringing this stuff up over and over but really this will be the last time in a while this is brought up. I just wanted to say that I put together an Indiegogo project for my surgery.
Insurance stuff finally got sorted and they arent going to cover it. So looks like its out of pocket for me! *cries*
Thought it might be better to put this all on one spot rather than a bunch of garbled txt posts T v T ;;;; sorry about the confusion and please pass this on if you have the time. this means a lot to me and i know everyone is tight on money and i don’t want to be an annoying burden- any little bit helps! The great thing about Indiegogo is that even if the goal isnt reached you still get what was raised so it will go along way in me saving up in the long term if this goes well :D Thank you!- even if its only reblogging or passing the word on via other social media.
Thank you everyone! I really mean it. You all have been too kind T A T <333333333333333333333333333333333333
Manila submerged. Please signal boost, along with the emergency hotlines and donation links.
This is happening, NOW. You should go make a contrib! And then tell your friends and family and coworkers and colleagues and bosses and rich aunties and uncles to go give. I mean, that’s seriously the only way this’ll work you guys.
The Washington Humane Society is in immediate need of adopters. In July alone, WHS took in 526 cats, 326 dogs, and 22 other domestic animals. At the same time, only 241 adoptions occurred — just 27 percent of the total intake. WHS currently has over 250 animals who need homes now.
Washington Humane Society has reduced adoption fees to $25 for cats and $50 for dogs. If you’re in the DC area, please check out their website and consider adopting!!
